Birders, Mid-day today (7 October), a Fork-tailed Storm-Petrel flew past us on the RV Yellowfin. Not chaseable, of course, but just a heads-up that at least one is out there. Location was at: 33 38.344'N 118 28.626'W, about 7.5 miles SW of Point Vicente. It was the only storm-petrel of the day, and there wasn't much else of note, besides 3000+ Black-vented Shearwaters, one Pink-footed Shearwater, a few Pomarine Jaegers, one Parasitic Jaeger, some small groups of Red-necked Phalaropes, and two adult Herring Gulls.
